In one of the Yahoo questions, the asker posted a question something along along the lines of why a list of people were murdered. Among that list was Martin Luther King Jr. and Gahndi.
But the answers shocked me. Some of the answerers disrespected and disregarded them, including King Jr. and Gahndi. How is this even possible?
Now, I've never personally met anybody who has ever disregarded them. And I have lived in Eastern NC my entire life, so nobody can say I've been raised around 'left wing propaganda'.

That's not my question!
My question is how have we degraded to insulting people like Gahndi and Martin Luther King Jr. ? What have they done wrong? Is making the world better a crime?

I didn't bother reading the answers but you are right, both King and Gahndi should transcend politics.............

I answered that question, without such comments.
IT was a question that called President Reagan a monster.
Two people out of a dozen answered the way you indicated, though one additional person called JFK a womanizer (true) and Lennon a hippie (true).
I'm surprised you haven't encountered such people. We have a free society. We have people who believe all sorts of nonsense. They're free to do so.
Some even think President Reagan was a monster. You should see the rest of the question that poster posts before you defend him too quickly, and I think you'd be a little stunned and put off by his question as well.
Each of these men had their faults. They were human.
They also changed our world for the better.
Your quick assumption that two out of twelve people who pointed out their flaws were therefore "disregarding" these genuine heroes is indicative of a desire to hide their flaws. Why? Does it make their accomplishments LESS impressive? Or more?
Is it disrespect to point out their flaws?
It is possible because we have free speech.
I don't think, although I did not and would not post such things without good reason, that I would like the world you would have us live in, with heroes, spray painted white, air brushed into flawless states and those who state their flaws as unimaginable ingrates.
I prefer freedom of speech. I'm a democrat.
First and foremost, I am a patriot. Hence my response to the poster you refer to regarding President Reagan.
Read it yourselves, folks:

I did not see the question or answers, but I would guess that most of the disrespectful answers came from the teenie boppers that think they're funny and know what they're talking about. If someone older, who has seen enough of the world & has maturity answered that way, then shame on them!
The need to get back to teaching ethics and civics in the schools.

Because you have morons on here that are so racist and uninformed that they believe that MLK was simpley a welfare loving minority and Gahndi was a terrorist. It is disgusting and shows how some people on here need to be booted off.

People on here just say things to get a rise out of people. It is easy to spout off foolishness like that when you are anonymous. Idiots.

You know there is a lot of people in the United States that really do believe that if it ain't white it ain't right.
They can deny it publicly all they like but it's still true!
