Jordan 10 years took his 4 siblings to a pond to play all aged 8 years and nine years. He jumped in to rescue his step sister (8) who got into difficulties and he drowned. The mother and step father are blaming two police officers who arrived at the scene for not saving him. Is it me or am I going mad? Where where those parents? down the pub? at Bingo? who of you out there would allow kids that age out on their own without being present? some yahoo users are very quick to blame the Mc Canns rightly or wrongly for leaving their kids asleep but to date I have not seen any comment on this case. What is your opinion?

i had not heard of this before seeing your question...but from how you tell it, sounds like the parents are trying to shift the blame off of themselves onto the police officers.

i would say if this tragedy is anyone's fault, it would be the parents for allowing children that age to be unattended near the pond. my opinion is that 5 children, ages 10 and under, do not belong by a pond without an adult to watch them.

There's a similar case in the Tri-State area where an elderly lady drove her car into a body of water. She survived with some brain damage and passed away about a year after the incident. Her surviving family members are suing the local government because the paramedics who responded came with a defibrillator that had a weak battery. Even though they did bring the lady back to life and she survived for nearly a year, the family want them held responsible for the lady's eventual death. BTW, she was in her 80s.
I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that these two parents will get a large financial settlement from their local police force just so the cost of lawyers fighting it out at $600+ a billable hour doesn't happen.

Our 3 boys know how to swim & have since they were around 3 or 4, we made sure they learned as soon as possible, because we have a boat & we live almost right on the water. That being said, we would NEVER allow the boys to go near the water alone even knowing how to swim. There are too many things that can happen & it only takes once thing for a child to drown. The parents should be prosecuted for neglect & stupidity (which is unfortunately NOT a prosecuteable offense).

idea 4 when she is diagnosed with cancer she finds out when she is gone from home. That her mother died from Hodgkin's cancer. She would cry every night that she can't see her family. And visit her mothers grave. When she gets better 1 year later she sees her family again as she realizes her family is slowly dieing. I think you can add on to this

I think both sets of parents were in the wrong. You never leave kids unattended while swimming and who leaves their kids at a hotel by themselves????
