I want to find land / property in my local area which I can lay claim to. How do I find it ? How do I lay claim to it ? Any books available on this subject ?

It's only worth claiming if you can get access to it .. take this into consideration before thinking you can even visit 'your' land, let alone build on it ..

If it's surrounded by some-one else's, they don't have to grant you access across their land & you would be trespassing if you didn't have their permission...

good luck with that! Most businesses, estate agents and the council will already have clains on that. If its unclained it probably wont be available info. saying that, my mum managed to claim a 6ft by 5 ft area attached to our garden which used to be part of a railway. Try the land registry office, but if they know about it, it probably is already claimed. Most unclaimed land is small patches between boundries.
