We are ttc and I *might* be preggo, as of this weekend. I have a dr appt tomorrow for a med check (not pg related). Can I ask them to do a blood test? Will it be too soon? I ordered some dip stick tests that are suppose to be used 6-8 days after ovulation. BUT, I figured if I'm there I might give it a shot & ask for it? How soon will PG show up in a dr blood test?

10-12 days after conception. I have been going through fertility treatments, and I had to go in for my blood test 12 twelve days after I stimulated my ovulation with shots.

HCG is produced in your blood when you find yourself pregnant. It then works its method into your urine which is what the house being pregnant checks decide on up. The blood checks will hence provide you with a outcome quicker than the home exams. Nevertheless medical professionals commonly ask you to attend as a minimum 2 weeks from while you ovulated so that you've a proper effect. Trying out too early can give you a false poor. While you say its been a week on the grounds that you think you might have conceived, does this imply a week from ovulation or when you has intercourse? It takes around 5-7 days from intercourse (for the duration of ovulation) for the egg to implant and HCG to being produced. A further 7 before that you could checking out at house.

When it will be able to show up on a blood test depends on when implantation occured. (Implantation is when the fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine wall) Implantation occurs, on average, between 7-10 days past ovulation, but it can happen a couple of days earlier or later as well.

It is after implantation that HCG starts being produced, which is the hormone that blood pregnancy tests and home pregnancy tests detect.

If you don't know exactly when implantation occured, it's hard to determine how soon your body will start producing the HCG needed to result in a positive blood or pregnancy test.

However, if you mean this weekend (as in Friday September 21, or today, Saturday September 22) as the possible date of conception when you say "I *might* be preggo, as of this weekend) It's virtually impossible that a positive result would show up tomorrow (Sunday, September 23rd) As that would only be 1-2 days past the date of conception.
Basically, tomorrow would be too soon for a blood test if you're hoping to have gotten pregnant yesterday or today. You would need to wait at least 6 days (preferably 10 or more) past the date of conception/ovulation.

I don't know exactly, but it's earlier than a pee test can predict. It's probably too early, but it doesn't hurt to ask either. I'm also TTC and I don't know if I can take another 2 weeks to take an at home preg. test.

With my second son it showed up 2 weeks or so after conception, I was just a couple of days late.

I think the blood test shows up sooner than the pee test. Go for it and ask your doctor. Good luck to you.
