they say its too short. i TOTALLY see where they are coming from, 100%.

but i just think its a really cute costume and you cant really find other schoolgirl costumes that dont make you wear those ugly plaid shorts or dont show your belly.

i like the costume alot, and i even told them that i would wear white tights underneath it.

they also said that it is too permiscuous. (spelling) but i would be with all of my friends so nothing bad would happen./

i dont think its fair that even LAST year all of my friends got to wear all this stuff that i wasnt even trying to wear on halloween until this year.

i just dont think its fair. im in 10th grade and i am almost sixteen... in my opinion i think that i can make my own choices on what i wear on halloween. its not like im going to be like that every day.

maybe i should just wear my regular clothes carrying a sign that says "my other costume was too slutty for my parents' eyes, so i decided to wear this as my costume instead."

In all sincerity, could it be that they don't have confidence in you??... Maybe they love you and feel that you don't respect yourself, evidenced by the disrespect you display for the English language and it's use..plus the fact that you use the diminutive "i" of the PERSONAL PRONOUN "I" by which you are demeaning yourself,as you will do by wearing the clothes you describe..

If you want to be a shcoolgirl for Halloween, why not make your own costume that's not so suggestive? Buy a cute plaid skirt that's long enough for your parents' approval, pair it with a white blouse, maybe a vest, some white tights and a pair of Mary Janes or Oxfords. You'll still be cute and your parents won't worry about how other people your age and older view you.

And just a tip from one girl to another....If you want your parents to start respecting your decisions, or letting you make these kinds of choices for yourself, it's best to just give in sometimes when you disagree with them. If you throw a fit because you aren't getting your way, all they'll see is a little girl complaining and not take you seriously.

Just a thought.

Sweetheart, Listen to your parents! They are your second priority under God's authority.

I can quote you all kinds of Scripture to back up why you should listen to your parents but I think it will fall on deaf ears.

So I'll speak to you as one of my own children. Why do you want to follow along blindly? Be a trend setter. Wear something modest that says I'm different or something modern with some class to it. Don't try to be another Britney Spears or one of her want-to-be's ... you see where it got her don't you? Be the strong one and get the others to follow you in good common sense.

I would normally say to one of my children (because I know them well) go ahead and wear the costume you picked out with the white tights. But I know your parents know you better than I do. Perhaps they think as soon as she gets out of our sight she'll pull the tights off and look the way she wants.

If you want more freedom, listen more to what your parents say to you. Earn their trust! Since they are older and wiser than you, they will never lead you down the wrong path. Besides, they've already been there and tried that. You won't put anything over on them .... it's always found out and then YOU pay the consequences.

Well, it is cute but I see what they are saying. It screams out "look at me aren't I sexy" which is probably why you like the costume - and I don't mean that its bad, because if I was 15 and with a cute figure I would go for something like that too. However, its not our decision or yours really, its theirs. You have plenty of tme to find something else you like before Halloween. In 2 or 3 years then you can wear whatever you like.

It's called a " Playboy Sexy Scholar Adult Womens Costume".

If your parents still make the decisions for you & they say no, good going. Good decision.

It reminds me of a song lyric - "Another Piece of Meat".
