By far my favorite is the classic song by the Pogues "Fairytale of New York", it was a Christmas song but not typical as the couple in the song, who are Irish immigrants in New York, tell each other off. Very clever storytelling in the song and well executed. Of course there is always Sinatra's "New York, New York" and The Eagles "New York Minute". Also check out the Fun Lovin Criminals "King of New York, They Might Be Giants "New York City" and The Horrorist "One Night In New York City" for some more ecclectic fare. Oh and I almost forgot Grand Master Flash's version of New York, New York, it's a classic.
