Toot-ahnk-uh-MOON is how I have heard British pronounce it over the phone, but I was taught Toot'n-kah-m'n' as you hear it on Merriam-Webster's site, here: http://www.merriam-webster.com/cgi-bin/audio.pl?bixtut01.wav=Tutankhamen

Toot-ahnk-ah-MOON. But keep in mind that ancient Egyptian writing doesn't have vowels; all of the pronunciations we use for ancient Egyptian words have interpolated vowels, and it's unlikely that any of them are what the Egyptians actually said.

It may well be one of those words that is pronounced differently by the British and Americans. The Webster pronunciation is how Americans pronounce it -- with accents on the first and third syllables.

I have always heard the Merriam Webster version as well. That or just king Tut.

Tut-Ankh-Amen not Tutan-khamen. It's a 3 hieroglyph name meaning "Living image of Amen". You may be familiar with the "ankh" symbol.
