He all of a sudden complain and could walk went to Ortho, told him to stay off of it for a week, did that went back was released and played an awesome f-ball game with no complaints. Next morning woke up and complained of sore back calf muscle. Got MRI and was told it is a inflammed muscle not pulled calf muscle return to activity when it doesn't hurt. He is ten and thinks he is indestructible. Please help!!!

if its inflammed he probably pulled it to begin with. he over worked it or well pulled it. it'll get better, give him some ibuprofin and he'll live. its nothing bad or serious.

Inflammation is like when the affected muscle swells up. A pulled muscle is when the muscle moves the wrong way, you could say. Inflammation can be caused by a variety of things, including allergic reactions and bug bites, but these cases are usually minor.

The inflamation is from over use. A pulled muscle involves some dammage to the bursa and tendon, they can be streched too far.
