One one hand I see these two gentlemen doing much to fight discrimination, but on the other hand they are doing much to promote it. They are protesting what is happening to this Bell kid in Jena, LA, which I can understand, read the story here: http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=07/07/10/1413220.
However, where were Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson when O.J. Simspon got freed on a low bail? If these two guys are truly serious about ending discrimination then they have to give fair treatment to all races and classes of people. Unfortunately, I do not see that happening. What do you think?

Those two care nothing at all about equality of the races. All they want to do is promote racism and judge others. Bigot Sharpton was absolutely wrong about the Duke Lacrosse men but did he apologize, heck no, he thinks an apology is beneath him.
Jesse James Jackson is just as bad too!!!!!!!!

I believe you on that. . there are a lot of people, myself blanketed who do no longer think of that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson talk on behalf of the AA community. yet do understand that i'm (and that i'm particular different everybody is too) bored with listening to the race card being pulled for each little ingredient that occurs. I ensue to have self belief the Sharpton is between the main prejudiced guy or woman I even have ever seen.

I remember when Martin Luther King, Medgar Evans, Roy Abernathy and other civil rights leaders fought for minorities to obtain equal access to the "American dream:. The hope that we had as a society, back in the 60's and 70's .is that overcoming racism and poverty would lead to better opportunities for oppressed people. The goals included for them to climb out of poverty and participate as equals to whites in mainstream society.
Fortunately, many blacks and other minorities have "overcome" and are doing fairly well, if not a lot better than their parents and grandparents. You would think these folks would be held up as role models to encourage young people to strive to do their best. But so called black leaders like Sharpton and Jackson seem to be into enabling minorities to remain dependent on government assistance; defending criminal and criminal like behavior(because they believe if a minority is charged with a crime, the charge has to be racially motivated) and unintentionally perpetuating the stereotypes many white people have about blacks and other minorities.

I believe these two gentleman promote racism. No doubt. They promote riots and they just go about it the wrong way. Why doesn't any of this so call leaders follow Dr. king's example. He was a real leader not like these two clowns.

OMG where the black race be if it wasn't for these two wonderful, unselfish, forward locking, inspirational leaders?
I'm thinking maybe 10 to 20 years ahead of where they are now in terms of living in equality!

hypocritical biggots the both of them. they don't want equality for blacks they want to have more rights than any race -
where were they when oj got out on bail??? Livin it up -lovin it - They are the most racist black people I know. They want blacks to be able to break the law and get by with it - they're junk - I'm glad the kid didn't get out yesterday just to prove a point to them. (although I do hope he gets fairness - what any white, black , yellow, brown kid would get for what he's done)
If you'll notice, it's all been turned around - this racist stuff- around here the blacks are way more racist than the whites.
I'm sick of hearing them whine

i think they are doing more to promote discrimination..cause it seems like all they are concerned with are the black man..they will never make good presidents cause they are only for the black man.. they only see color.... they talk about Barack Obama being a black white man... well he is.. he has to see something other than color if he wants to win a shot at the presidency..we are not a black America we are a diverse community and we all need to see that.. not just for the whites and not just for the blacks.. we are more than just colors...

They are just looking for an opportunity to have their pictures taken and to open their mouths.
I don't really think that they help with much because from what I can tell with everytime I see them on tv it is just stirring up more racism and keeping it alive.

I heard someone on TV (can't remember who) call Jackson a "poverty pimp", and that's about the best description I've ever heard for either of these so-called "gentlemen".

Where were they when OJ got off on Low bail?
Probably cheering because they think it's one step closer to being better than everyone.
