The Border fence is not the answer to all our problems, just one of them. Namely keeping foreigners out unless we decide to let them in.
If you want to solve the other problems, I suggest you look elsewhere.

It is not meant to protect us from that.
That is like using a bullet proof vest to protect agains mosquito bite. It is designed to protect, but against bullets not mosquitos.
