In a sense the majority rule of the views on the current war in iraq WILL have an impact on the upcoming elections.no doubt!
remember "the people" is what controls the election and outcome of what party rules this country. right? If the republican party want the support of the people they need to address the concerns of the majority about their solutions to the ongoing war in iraq.
I'm sure it's too late for them to just pull out of an ongoing war before the 2008 elections. republican candidates I hope will not find ways to abate the topics of war in their opening debates.

There are consequences to hastily leaving Iraq. Since most of the public is incapable of understanding these consequences we elect leaders to do it for us. Congress and the public all supported the war when it began. It is now up to the president and the military to make the proper decisions.
It does not matter if a poll says the people want to leave, it cannot be done yet.

The will of the American public is to win in Iraq! The will of the American public is to be secure! The will of the American public is to have a strong economy! We are. We are. We do!!!! Stop listening to the Democrate and their silly polls. The Democrates are a 'do nothing Congress' - and their polls are lower than the President. Shouldn't that tell you something?

NO! You believe everything you hear or read in the media? And how do you explain that some of the democrats who are running for president plan on picking up pretty much the same plans as the president? Just wishful thinking on your part.

Nine tens of the Americans do not want to lose the war. Of course everyone wants the war to end. But we want to end in victory. That is the only way to do it. We gave up once, in Vietnam, when we had the war just about won. I will never give up.

Two thirds???? Please reveal your (incorrect) source for this (incorrect) information. Many people want the war to end by WINNING it!!!!! How about if the (democratically lead) congress gets out of the role of micro managing the military leaders and lets them do their job? Then and only then should we pull out. Those of you who believe that a majority of the country want us to give up and leave are playing a dangerous game.

If the price to pay for wiping this decrepit, corrupt, dishonest and hypocritical party off the face of the earth is a continuing war, it might be worth it.

Ah....but the real numbers are how many want us to pull out early? Those numbers are much smaller. These politicians are doing exactly what I put them in office to do.
