Did it ever dawn on you to read the warranty paperwork or call the warranty issuer instead of asking a forum that knows nothing about the transaction?
Your property insurer may cover it if the damage was caused by something that is covered in your policy.
If you want to collect from the previous owner, agents, home inspector, then you can usually forget about it because you bought the home as is unless you included a provision in the contract that creates a liability for someone else.

You should read the warranty first. It will propbably tell you if it covers or not. If thats not clear to you then call the company . Your getting close to the time your warranty will be up so you may want to get on this. There is no such thing as a little leak. this is a problem that needs your attention now. That little leak can be a major problem in the future. Also if there is a deductable then open the phone book or ask freinds and get several estimates of the repair cost then make your decision. You are a home owner now you must be proactive in protecting your investment.

My first questions is; "did you have the house inspected"? If not, but you have a warranty, my second question is; "does the warranty cover the roof"? We have no idea what your transaction included or didn' t include. If you think that it is worth your time and money to pursue a suit against the seller, by all means do so. But I can tell you from experience, that if you didn't have an inspection, the judge will say bye bye!
It sounds like even you consider it a minor leak, if so then why are you trying to make more of it than you think it is?
You should be ashamed.

I would call the warranty company, if the home was inspected they might fix it depending on your policy. If you do not understand the policy after calling the warranty company call your real estate agent. Sometimes they can help by making a call for you. If it is not under warranty, you might have to fix it yourself or claim it on your insurance. Even if a home passes inspection today a pipe could break tom. you just never know. It is the beauty of owning a home. And yes, I am a real estate agent.

Call the warranty company. They will tell you whether it is covered or not. If it is covered they will have a service fee of around $40. In other words, its $40 no matter how much it costs to fix. Small leaks can be repaired with $3.00 worth of roofing tar from Lowes.

You can ask about the warranty but I doubt it will cover a small roof leak. Definitely get someone to fix it before it creates bigger problems. It could just be a wind damaged shingle.
Who told you the roof was good? Did you have the place inspected before your purchased it?

Call the warranty company and they will tell you how to get it taken care of. It should cover it.
