What do you guys think is the dumbest political talking point?

I think it is "George Bush wanted to go to war."

Of course he wanted to go to war, if he didn't we wouldn't be there.

Any ideas?

There are so many of them coming from the left, I can't decide which one takes the prize. Gimme some time to think. On second thought, I've got better things to do.
Just take any five or ten sentences that come out of Hillary's mouth and go "eenie meanie minie mo........"

Hands down, the stupidest political talking point is that in the war on terror, you are either with us or against us.

Obviously reasonable people are going to have reasonable disagreements about whether the president is handling the WOT in an effective manner. Disagreeing with some of his decisions is not only NOT a show of support for terrorists, it is the patriotic and American way.

For example, I think the domestic spying program is an abuse of power. Even if I'm wrong (which I don't think I am,) it doesn't mean I want the terrorists to win. It means that I understand what the Revolution was fought for. It means I think the ideals of our Constitution are worth preserving. It means I love America and freedom and I don't want any soldiers to have died in vane, and that includes the soldiers who fought and died at Valley Forge.

All that happened in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina was all President Bush's fault.

Like it was him who wrote that horrid hurricane plan, that really only dealt with up to a Catagory 3 hurricane, saying that it would be much worse if a 4 or 5 hit. Like it was him to told the people in New Orleans, and all over the country, NOT to stock food and water in case of a hurricane or other natural disaster. Like it was him who didn't make a mandatory evacutation order. Like it was him who after writing the hurricane plan, made sure that the "shelters of last resort" were not stocked with food and water, which was actually stated in the hurricane plan that "shelters of last resort" might not actually have food or water there. Like it was President Bush who ordered the buses in the city to stay put so that they would get buried under water.

Anyone who hasn't read the old hurricane plan for that area really should. It may only take about an hour or so. And make sure you pay attention to the parts about Catagory 3, and what a Cat 4 or 5 would mean. Pay attention to the thing in there about shelters of last resort. If you are like me, when you are done reading it, you will lean back in your chair, take a swig of your beer, and say, "What in the **** were they thinking?"

Do you people sit at home and continuously think about what bad things to say about a sitting president?

You, among others, are badly misinformed. Bush is enforcing the UN resolutions that Clinton and the UN were too weak to enforce as well as bringing the fight to where the terrorists are . As a bonus we also liberated the Iraqis.

If successful, we will have a friendly, democratic nation in a very strategic location to assist us in the war on terror and future confrontations.

Try thinking for yourself instead of simply reading the Democratic party's talking points.

Hillary craves power and is too ambitious.

Gee, no kidding, none of the other congressmen and senators have any ambition at all, and power is just electricity to them...they are all sweethearts.
Its too stupid for words, if you are going to plan to run a country you damn well better be ambitions and have a healthy appreciation of the uses of power.
Not one head in Congress hits the pillow each night without the thought...If only I were president.

Of course I'll agree with that. And I'll go one further- nobody would have joined the service unless they knew they would probably go to war and were ready for it. So why all the crying about bringing them home when they volunteered to be there too?

Yes, I am a combat veteran and I'd do it again.

Bush lied - people died.

International intel all said Iraq had WMDs - so why single Bush out? Or are they implying that Bush is so sneaky and clever that he managed to outwit the international intel community?

Or how about Hillary, saying Bush "tricked" her. Bill also said, more than once, that Saddam had to be stopped - by force, if necessary - did W "trick" Bill, too? Madeline Albright? ALL the Dems who felt it was necessary to stop Iraq?

You can't have it both ways.

I think they all are fairly smart. if you can get stupid people to believe them, and gain votes, who cares if they are true, or smart. All you have to do is construct a point that stupid people believe and you have won. it's not about who is smarter or who has a more valid point. it's about getting people to believe your point. "Elections are not about truth. They are simply advance auctions on stolen goods." (1)
