The carpet flick turned out to be a huge waste of time. While it picks up some stuff, the pad is used up in seconds. It isn't worth buying and it would never replace a vacuum even if it worked better.

No idea about the Swiffer. But my mother has one for cleaning bare floors that she likes.

About the vacuum: Is there a chance that either the filters or the hose are clogged? Or even that the dust-catcher is full and needs to be either emptied or changed? I used to clean for a living- which meant that I went through a lot of vacuum cleaner bags. And usually the first sign I had that I needed a new bag was that the vacuum would refuse to pick up.

The Carpet Flick is not good for cleaning an entire room but it is terrific for throw rugs, messes like crumbs on the rug, etc.and for pet hair.My cat likes to lounge on the throw rug in the kitchen and Carpet Flick keeps it looking good.

I also love my Carpet Flick for every day quick cleaning. It would never replace my vacuum, though.

Don't get the CarpetFlick. Mine ended up in my last yard sale! I prefer my good old fashioned bissel. Good luck!
