I think everything depends of your priorities to believe that a place is the best one to live in. I like the USA. When you say America you mean the continent, not the country, that is a mistake a lot of people make.
I can tell you these facts from my point of view. I am a woman. I have been living in USA for a long time.
1. You can be 60 years old and find a job.
2. You can be pregnant and find a job.
3. You can be married and find a job.
4. You can be 39 and find a well paid job. Age is not a problem. you will get paid based on your experience and capacity on performing your job.
5. I love paying my bills by mail and not making a line for hours pay my electricity bill.
6. You can be 40, 50 or 60 and still date a man (in my case)
7. You can dress as you wish and people respect your style. (of course not teenagers)
8. I like the credit system that works in this country. getting a credit depends of how good you assume your financial responsibilities not who you know in the bank. I never got a credit card in my country because I didn't know anybody in a bank. Here my credit is perfect and have great opportunities to buy house, car, etc.
9. Sexual harassment is penalized, in my country you need to bear with it.
I hope this helps.

When i was in France the first time, I deeply missed America for the following reasons:
1) food--there is no "cuisine" that you HAVE to eat everytime you go out--french, italian, mexican--they are all options here, not the only option (or at least the only decent option) in their respective countries.
2) Language. to be able to understand everyone around you is certainly a gift. spanish should be learned to help for the future.
3) diversity--the 50 states are more diverse than any other country in geographic, agricultural, economic, and sociological manners. there is a french way, but there is also a midwestern-way, a socal way, a new yorker way, a southern way, a cowboy way, etc.
4) but there are also a lot of bad things about america. like health care. getting screwed by the government for these "priveleges"

Where did you hear that America is the best place to live in? American, the U.S.A., has been gradually becoming a sort of a third world country. The middle class is slowly disappearing leaving only the very rich and the very poor.

Its government and related traditions, mainly. We were set up to be (1) a place with a high degree of freedom of thought
and (2) a high degree of obedience to written law, which is carefully written so as not to impinge on freedom of thought.
Note that "thought" covers religion, and "obedience" covers everyone, officials and everyone else. When it comes down to personal freedom, India is probably freer than we are, but there's no similar obligation to obey written law. Thus the place is disorderly in terms of courts, banks, and other necessary aspects of law enforcement, and so they're poor because business can't work.
I'm rather pleased with this definition and I'll work to refine it a bit for other purposes. Thank you for the opportunity to think it out.

You can start with the first ten amendments to the Constitution which are the Bill of Rights. No other country in the world has that much freedom built in and is why people will die to get to America where they can live free. That would be good for a start. Good luck..

This isnt facts but it is my opinion...
I think america is the best plave to live because you are able to be free. There is no actual facts to why america is the best plase to live. Its all opinions. In america ther is so many different culures and thats what makes it america. That is why were free. Ya, people are always judging people by their appearence, but thats shouldnt be. In america you can live to be who you really are and who you wanna be. Thats why alot of people live in America. That is my opinion!

WHO told you that the USA was the "best" place to live? There are best places on this earth depending on what YOU want in life -- the USA has horrible health care and people, including me, are having problems getting work so don't believe EVERYTHING you read.....it's a lot of advertisement and lies......we cater to the people from Mexico coming over the boarder (THEY get free healthcare -- we don't) --- it's NOT the greatest place to be.....do you know who our president is???? OMG!!

Who says that it is?
George Bush invited terrorists over to get you all killed.
Most of you are "crazy".
Your country does not look after you properly IE health care etc....
You are all so annoying when you say "freedom of speech" blah blah blah.
Why do you think its the best place to live?

There are no "Facts". The place where you live being the best place in the world can only ever be a matter of opinion. Never a matter of fact.
