Ok, I have just found a deal on a 30 gallon tank to set up. I currently have a 10 gallon with a 6 inch common pleco in it. I know what you intelligent people are thinking, that idiot! Yes, I know a pleco needs atleast 50 gallons and my type of pleco gets to 12 inches. My pleco is about 10 years old, and has definetely been stunted for a few years. I got him when I just started in the hobby and was an idiot, and buyed on impulse. Ok, so I have set up the 30 gallon tank and it is cycled. I would like to move my pleco into this tank, to live the rest of his life in a larger tank. So, my pleco will stay at 6 inches. What could I put with him. I was thinking 1 angel and a few mollies. I know angels are schooling fish, but I can not accomidate a school in this small of a tank. I know my angel fish will take care of all the molly frys, and the ones the angel doesn't eat, the mollies will. I am prepared for 1 to occasionally survive. How does this set up sound. How many mollies would you get?

If you can't accommodate their enjoyment of schooling, don't get Angelfish. Since you already have a severely stunted Pleco, How about a tank with 5 Mollies, 11 Zebra Danios OR 7 Hatchetfish, and 5 Cory Cats. The Pleco, Mollies, and Danios will help eat any fry you don't want, and the Cories will help eat any leftover FOOD (they do NOT eat poop).

I would not put angels, i would go with either some Tiger Barbs (6-8) or maybe some Danios (6-10)
