No, it wasn't aviator. That movie was about howard hughes. You are thinking of the one where Leonardo plays a con-man and then starts working for the government. Sorry, can't think of the name of it.

it was catch me if u can with leonardo dicaprio and tom hanks..
he was not only a fake pilot,but faked alot of jobs in that film to get away from the detective(played by tom hanks)
