Unlike the rivalry that Sir Aryton Senna and Sir Alain Prost shared, there is no respect that either Lewis or Alonso have for each other - neither on the track, nor off it !
Both are equal at antiques. If Lewis disobeys his team in the qualifiers and doesn't let Alonso pass, Alonso goes wheel to wheel at the races and nudges Lewis off the track. Its all ok at times. But it seems to be getting a bit out of hand now. I agree that both the drivers are pumped up, but at the end of the day, you must possess a quality called RESPECT !
When Mr. Senna passed away, Mr. Prost said, "A part of me has died as well". This is what I wanna see in the present generation of drivers like Alonso and Lewis.
Star this question if you agree with me !

While i agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment, it won't happen, not on a level of Prost/Senna anyway.
The nearest there has been was the Hakkinen/Schumacher tussels from 98-2001, the tears of frustration in the Monza woods, THAT pass at Spa (Classic F1 moments!) and the respect between the two all season, Schumacher looking at Hakkinen in awe and vice versa.
I didn't watch F1 until 95 but i have seen and read enough to know that although their rivalry was intense, it was sheer respect and one upmanship, one never to be seen again, much to the loss of Our Sport.
next year is 20 years from Ayrton Senna winning his first world title, it would be a fitting memorial if the championship was fought on a level playing field: no collusion, no tricks no bullsh!t
Just Balls out RACING!!

well lewis said he looks up to the world champion and even if that is his team-mate !!! lewis said he still has respect for alonso, he said that in an interview. not sure about alonso though.
but alonso does need to give respect to lewis & his team. or he will go back to renault.
and Alain Prost was one of the people who carried Aryton Senna's coffin. So much respect he had for him.

I think there is alot of respect lost in all teams in F1 today, you are right Senna and Prost had respect for each other..I don't know if its all the crap that is going on with Mclaren or not, but maybe everyone at Mclaren and all of the teams need to step and and show respect like all drivers/teams shared back in the day in F1, Hamilton and Alonzo just need to grow up..Maybe Alonzo is having problems with Lewis being a rookie and being so good...theres tons of friction between these guys, I think more from Alonzo than Hamilton...I agree with you its going to be hard for these two guys to show any respect for each other, unless one of them gives in and lets the other guy win.....

I think that Alonso HAS gone to far. It does not seem like they are on the same team. Which they won't be next season, Take my word for it. Lewis has done nothing to Alonso, Alonso just can't take it that Lewis (a rookie) has come into the team along side the reigning double world champion and shown him up. Lewis does respect Alonso as he's said that in interviews but Alonso has no respect for Lewis. Go Lewis!!

a million+2) there became the remark made approximately Lewis swearing then there became a retraction asserting that they had had words yet no swearing in touch then i examine right this moment he did swear!!!!! (if he did so what, everybody else does and with some understand (that's no longer as though he has in basic terms met him, even tho you ought to nonetheless have understand) a minimum of end a season as international Champion first then he wont ought to bypass by using all this. It makes me think of if he wasn't as stable as he became none of this s%$t could be occurring. 3+4+5) "i heard" that Alonso is ignoring Lewis yet simply by fact they have some applications jointly that Alonso basically speaks to Hamilton if he has too.

Lewis has always said that he's admired Alonso so much and that he was honored to be his teammate. I do agree however that there seems to be lack of respect on Alonso's part.He should be more respectful towards Lewis and the team! For someone who's always wanted to go to Mclaren, he's not really showing the respect the team deserves!

Maybe it's just like pro wrestling where Lewis and Alonso go out and have a beer together and laugh at all the fans who bought their act.

personally i think Lewis was excited about having Fernando as a team mate. he looked up to him and respected him immensely and was quoted as saying he has a lot to learn from Fernando. i think his illusions have been shattered and he has lost a lot of respect for Fernando. i am really not sure what Fernando thinks about Lewis. he has praised him in television interviews and i think he knows Lewis is good. i think he is just totally disenchanted with McLaren so whatever respect he has is just not showing. i guess in a roundabout way i am agreeing with you so you will get a star from me

They are both young and hungry, I guess they do for their skill but it is a Championship after all and a title is at stake.
Maybe it's internal team politics that are to blame, two time champ v nwe boy?
