"Message to my Daughter" -(I highly recommend it. It's an incredible story about a girl finding love. But then she gets pregnant and decided to keep the baby. As a single mother while pregnant she finds out she's dying...
Now, I am not going to ruin the "message" and the full story about what she does throughout the pregnancy and love between life and death. Great book.)-
Also "Holes" which is, in my own opinion, an awesome book for young people as well for adults.
-(It is the story about adolescent boys getting into trouble and sentenced to go to a Rehabilitation Center in the middle of the dessert. They think it's going to be a piece of cake but what they have to endured is more than they ever imagine... I love this book.)-
Now, if you're into action, suspense and thrills, for that Jeffrey Deaver is an awesome author and my favorites from him are:
"The Bone Collector"
"The Coffin Dancer".
"The Blue Nowhere"... and many, many more. Check him up. Lately he came up with two books with terrific short stories called: "Twisted" and "More Twisted".
And, don't worry, the titles are not as bad as it sounds... They are awesome short stories about mistery, thrill and much suspense... ( One of my many favorite stories in "Twisted" is one you'll love and called "Beautiful").

I know you'll fully enjoy these terrific books because they are the perfect kind of what you're looking for.
Enjoy!

Read some Nicholas Sparks books. Those are good. Also, if you like inspirational books, try the author Mich Albom. Fantasy reader? Harry Potter and Dragon Rider have to be the best in the fantasty genre. (N. Sparks is a romancey author) I wish you happy reading!

I like a wide variety of books. I like Robert Heinlein books because Sci-Fi writers are the only philosophers around. The Moon is a Harsh Mistress or Stranger in a Strange Land, he's written lots.

Watership Down by Richard Adams. My parents refered The Red Badge of Courage. I don't know how old you are but these are two relatively easy to read books. Also, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is REALLY easy to read, and I really reccomend Lovecraft. Very surprising themes and he was vastly intelligent. I'm 33 and I love young adult books also. Bon Apetit.

-Warriors series by Erin Hunter. These books are about a cat who leaves the human world to live in the forest, where he finds a clan, a leader, and friends, as well as enemies.
-Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer. An 11 year-old kid who is determined to regain the wealth that his father lost...by any means possible.

Try something by Tracy Chevalier. Girl With A Pear Earring is very good. It gets you involved with the story, but it's still sweet and simple. The ending is perfect.
