The profiteering cartels are killing innocents for nothing! The Iraqi's are living in hell too. They'd be better off figuring it out themselves. The bloodbath and looting of our tax $$ must stop! Iraq has not helped us fight terror. So face reality!!

"Can the USA continue to let 75 americans die per month in Europe?"
"The profiteering cartels are killing innocents for nothing! The Europeans are living in hell, too. They'd be better off figuring it out themselves. The bloodbath and looting of our tax $$ must stop! Europe has not helped us fight Japan. So face reality!!"
This, essentially, is our disagreement. They are not the same. They are similar. The attitude IS the same, on both sides. "Get involved now before it's too late to do anything about it", "Stay out, it's not our fight, we have our own problems."
Two opposing views. I can't even say which one is right, this time.
Last time, we learned which was right, in WWII.
My family escaped Islam in the 1950s. We've been expecting this war for decades. Our ratio of our dead is roughly six terrorists/insurgents for one of our men/women.
That's amazing. The very efforts of the government of Iran and others to overthrow and destabalize the government of Iraq is a clear indication of what they would do if we left. The fact that our enemies WANT us to leave is a good indication as well.
Funny that those who sell weapons for a living are expected to donate them. No war without donated weapons! If they sell the weapons to us, it is a bad war and must be stopped?
If we use tax dollars to fund the war it must be stopped.
I'm not certain what the reasoning is behind those arguments.
We've created the largest fly trap in the world in Iraq, with minimal cost to us compared to other wars (comparatively) and with far more success. The expectations of the opponents of the war seem to far outstrip ANYTHING that has EVER been expected of the military before, like someone saying, "You recited your ABCs, terribly, because they were too fast, too slow, said too loud, and too softly, and were said in an order I didn't like (even though it is the traditional order) and could have been done better in thousands of ways which I don't have the time or interest to go into now. Since you want to continue, recite Shakespeares work without any mistakes, or taking a breath."
Seems silly. No willingness to compare this war to others to see just how successful we've been. That isn't important to the opponents. It isn't even about Iraq. It's about "no war for any reason if it is the U.S.A. being involved".
They got dragged into it, afraid to say anything after 9/11, but now that some time has passed, they feel free to revert?
This has never been about Osama. It has been about the continued attacks on the U.S. that we have failed to answer in the past, and ended with the destruction of 3000+ lives. Our refusal to answer their attacks has bit us back, and some would have us close our mouths and "not hit".
Face reality? Yes. All of us. Listen to the enemy for once. Hear what he, himself, has to say.
Believe him. He means it. He has always meant it.
We just didn't believe it until 9/11.
Osama was just the poster boy.

Who cares about the 6,000 people a day who die right here in the United States of America!
Lets use the 2.4 deaths per day in Iraq as propaganda so people do not care at all about the over 6,000 people a day who die right here!
Screw the public! Propagandize them! Who cares if they live or die when we can use a couple of deaths a day to enhance our political agenda!
This is why the pro-slavery, anti-civil rights Demophytes who are using exactly the same propaganda against Iraq that they used against the Civil war should be disbanded in disgrace.
They could care less about a real domestic agenda.
That is reality.

The Muslim people of the middle east are not happy unless they are murdering each other by the bushels. It has been that way since time began. We won't make a bit a difference. We should pull out of the middle east and take the reins off the Israelis, because the only thing keeping them from nuking ever single one of their Arab neighbors is "US". We need to take the bit out of their mouths and tell them to "have at it"

And where are you getting your "facts". If the Iraqi people could have figured it all out for themselves, we would not have been there in the first place, they would have finished what they started to attempt years ago.

Oh, of course, figuring it out for themselves. Say that when the country descends into a genocidal frenzy. And exactly what cartels. And please don't mention Halliburton or the oil companies, they've been milked to death enough already.
