If you are at all interested in capturing the swarm and have a ready hive. Get two pint jars of pasteurized Honey and leave one open, next to the entrance to the hive that you want to fill and one INSIDE also open, of that same hive. they'll go right in and begin to make their new home nice and comfy and start to build a honeycomb and brooding comb. YOU'll have to feed them store bought honey, over the winter but they'll stay put for the whole summer next year. Just think of all the GOOD mead on the wing. Like has already been mentioned, that is one of the BEST omens for Mbon that you can possibly recieve. Godess is afoot at your place, for sure.

Maybe they will bring you honey! That definately is quite the way to start your Mabon. You could try and smoke them out?

if you bbq or have a bonfire as part of your celebration it might make them go away, they don't like the smoke and lots of people in one place tend to make them leave. Another sneaky trick is to buy some flowers and set them where the guests and you aren't going to be, they'll go enjoy the flowers instead of pestering you. My sister likes to put an open cup of orange soda out so they can just fly down into it and have a drink. They also like rootbeer and cola, but not diet flavored.

This time of year they are paniced. The flowers have all died back, but it is not yet cold enough for them to hibernate. They leave their normal areas and activities looking for any type of food source.
