He's the band leader for the band on the Late Show with David Letterman, and has got to be the most annoying person on tv. He just never shuts up! You can't even hear Letterman interviews, cuz he's always talking and laughing and trying to be a part of it, even during the monolauge. He's a good band leader, but really, he should just shut up, and stick to playing

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm so glad others feel that way too. He has annoyed me for so long with his inane comments to whatever DL says. I just wish he would keep his mouth shut. And this is coming from one of his fellow Canadians. That is one of the reasons I don't watch the show much. DL is not my favorite late night person but Shafer doesn't help.

He was a child prodigy. A musical genius from an early age.
He is a very talented man and is on more records than you know but still he is an annoying little twerp

I know what you mean.I use to like Paul once upon a time,but now he's annoying,and he can't sang worth a dime.I like Jay Leno show better.

Yes but Paul is family now.He is like the Jewish uncle Dave never had.(yes David is not Jewish and Paul is not his Uncle.David is a task master if he did not like it he would tell Paul to shut up.David is now on auto pilot,I think half the time he has no idea what Paul says.

David likes Paul to be a part of the show. And whatever David wants is ok with me.
David wouldn't do the show if Paul weren't there.

I can't even look at that little dork. I never could. He think he's all that and he isn't. He tried to sing but my dog can sing better that he can.
