And I gave it a large enclosure (around 8 feet by 4 feet) and I gave it all the things it has in the wild in its habitat...would it be able to live happily

I mean, if the thing is kept is a rather large habitat, is kept away from danger, will always have proper healthy food, and won't risk getting hit by a car, wouldn't it be happy

I would like a box turtle, but my dad wont let me buy one, only if I find one....I think this is dumb because you shouldn't keep wild animals....but like i said, if it is kept the way i described, wouldn't it be just like its in the wild?

And it would also have plenty of time out of the enclosure for some roaming time

You would and should leave it in the wild. This is why reps and animals are becoming extinct. Save up your money and buy one. You have already asked this question and I don't think you are hearing what you want to hear.

They the two might desire to get outdoors unfiltered sunshine (not with the aid of a window) or have a UV gentle. the stable ones are notably high priced and that they might desire to get replaced in many cases because of the fact even however they nonetheless gentle, the quantity of UV diminishes a great deal after six months of use. Turtles additionally prefer a intense calcium weight-help plan. maximum persons locate using calcium supplements a solid theory, yet once you are able to feed your turtle a great style of total small fish, snails with the shell and worms that pop out of the airborne dirt and dirt (not bait worms you purchase) they must be ok without complement. container turtles at the instant are not universally unlawful to maintain as pets, yet there are generally regulations that a individual won't be able to easily take one from the wild for a puppy. that's to guard interior of sight populations. there's a great style of preparation on line approximately conserving boxies, or perhaps boards to proportion recommendations with different turtle keepers. you are able to google container turtle care sheet, and turtle communicate board to locate some. in case you have not have been given any adventure conserving turtles, or if the information i've got given sounds too complicated, superb to launch the turtle back the place you got here across it. Turtles are great pets for the suited individual, a committed proprietor who loves turtles for what they're, and does not assume them to be like a cat, dogs, or different heat fuzzy puppy, and an proprietor who has the gap and potential to offer them with what they like. boxies are between the less demanding turtles to guard, yet they nonetheless require learn and dedication to do it suited.

Box turtles are rapidly disappearing from most areas where they occur, due in part to being collected for pets. Virtually all Box turtles in pet stores are wild caught as well.
They are also protected in many areas.

You would not be taking just one box turtle.
All of its reproductive potential will also be removed from the wild.
All of the offspring that your box turtle would have produced will be lost.
