baby washcloths
baby laundry detergent
fragrance free dryer sheets
baby safe fabric softener (if you use it)
baby mitts (so they don't scratch themselves for the first couple weeks because you have to wait a few weeks before trimming their nails)
A separate pot for boiling water/sterilizing that you don't use for food (EVER)
More nipples (no matter how many nipples you have it will never seem like enough LOL and they wear out as well)
something to put formula in when traveling (ziploc storage containers are great!)
If you are using your own tap water boiled you will need a sterilized water bottle as well to bring extra water with you when traveling,
Instead of a baby bath tub, get the mesh baby bather from Walmart for like 5 bucks and use your big tub, much easier!
pacifiers -a couple different kinds and get lots as they get lost real easy
change pad (portable so you don't have to lug baby to change table all the time)
baby powder or cornstarch
baby socks
mesh bag to wash/dry baby socks in so they don't get lost
Baby sleeping bag/bunting bags
Gripe water
Play mat with music/lights - you'll need to put baby down from time to time so at least put the baby down on something that will stimulate their brain and keep them occupied.
baby positioner - great to use to leave baby on the couch for a few minutes as you go to the bathroom/answer the door/ make a bottle etc.. and you'll need it later when baby starts to roll.
mesh bug protectors for bassinet/stroller to keep flies from waking up the sleeping baby
rain cover for stroller/car seat
blinds for the rear side window of your car if it isn't heavily tinted so baby doesn't get direct sun in his/her face

As for the onesies, most of mine do up in the front so they don't go over the head. I also have a few that do up across one shoulder so you can put the feet through first and pull them up. You'll want more than 12 unless you do laundry every couple of days. Some days we would go through 4-6 outfit changes in the beginning, babies are messy eaters until they learn how to suck from a bottle properly and they hate the smell of sour milk/formula on their clothes.

You'll want sleepers too, use them at night so you don't have to use a blanket with the baby, depending on how controlled the temperature is where baby is going to sleep get mostly ones that will suit for night but get a couple light ones in case it does get really warm at night and some warm ones for when you have to go out at night and it's cool.

about a week after you get home you will think of things you wish you had gotten (wipe warmer/bottle sterilizer/mother's helper/fulltime nanny/housekeeper etc...) and realize that the play pen isn't needed for a couple months, baby hates hats and none of them fit anyways, the 100 receiving blankets you thought were overkill really are needed but the 70 bibs aren't needed until they start eating solids, (bottle fed babies once they get the hang of the bottle don't make much of a mess) etc.. being a mom is an on the job learning experience. Remember that the baby doesn't care if it sleeps in a clothes hamper or a thousand dollar crib, doesn't care if the diaper gets changed on the floor or up on the table, doesn't care if the stroller is used or brand new, all it cares about is food, warmth, clean bum and being loved and held all the time.

Good luck and congrats!

You have it pretty well covered.... I would suggest a boppy breastfeeding pillow to help support infant possibly a glider or comfortable recliner if you don't already have one.. I would go with EITHER the bouncy seat OR the swing both takes up too much room.. Trade one or the other in for an exersaucer for when the baby is older... Also, some baby Einstein DVD's for when you need a shower/break.. Baby lotion, Oh also get the pack n play with the bassinet option to save room... Since you only need a bassinet for a short time... More bibs you'll go through them like mad.... For your hospital bag get some front opening pj's so it's easier to nurse... Very, very handy... Some comfortable throw away underwear for the hospital bag, nursing bras....

The two things that every new parent must have are the "Happiest Baby on the Block" (video preferably) and the large swaddling blanket shown in that video (book). You will be able to keep your sanity w/ these! Congrats!

I also highly suggest cloth diapering for too many reasons to list here. And, stay away from any breast pump that has a bottle name (Evenflo, Gerber). They are designed to hurt and to be ineffective so that you will stop breastfeeding. Get a Medela or some such. It will take 3-6 weeks to get your milk supply fully established. So, hang in there! You Can Do It!

a diaper genie that wraps disposable diapers in plastic to keep down the smell. Or some other kind of diaper pail. Baby toothpaste for a little bit later on. Orajel for teething pain. Swimming diapers if baby plans to swim, otherwise the diaper really absorbs all the water. Hopefully the diaper bag has a plastic changing mat that can be cleaned. You also need the suction bulbs to clean the nose until the child learns to blow.

Congratulations. Enjoy your baby. It goes by so quickly. Take lots of pictures and videos.

I have seen the onsies that snap on the sides but I have only seen them in a preemie size.

Baby outfits- To start out with I usually put my daughter in either sleepers or onesies with pants. I tried to keep her as comfortable as possible.

Also if you havent already get some Infant Mylicon (gas drops). They do work for some babies and some babies it has no effect on but atleast you could try them.

You have a lot of stuff for one tiny baby! You could safely return one or two of the sleeping things.

Sleepers are the best outfits for new babies. All they do is sleep, so they might as well be comfortable.

You don't have a sling. You don't know that you need one yet, but my slings have been my sanity savers. I call my favorite sling my "deployment survival device." Wearing my babies in slings keeps them near me and happy, while I have two free hands.

I almost forgot! You need a copy of The Baby Book by William Sears. It's so much better than What to Expect. What to Expect is very out-of-date, but Dr Sears is timeless.

i use lots of large warm blankets. my daughter likes to sleep with one pushed up on her back. (she sleeps on her side) don't forget a bottle brush, a changing table is good too. and get some clorox wipes for the changing table, and later, for the high chair, swing, crib, and plastic toys. books are good as well. if you live in a cold climate, you will need lots of socks, and a cover for the car seat. if you live in a dry climate, it will do good to get a cool mist humidifier. that helps keep congestion down when baby gets sick. gas drops are a wonderful blessing as well. and lots of wash rags. oh, and if you have a walmart, there is a kit you can get for $10. it has a bulb, thermometer, nail clippers, and medicine dispensers. i hope i helped

make sure you dont just have one baby towel. get a few hooded ones, because you should be bathing your baby every 2 or 3 days, and you dont wanna use the same towel every time. and buy a good thermometer to keep on hand when baby gets vaccine shots.also, get a separate hamper for your baby's dirty clothes. i once put my baby' s clothes in with ours, and some of ours bled and messed up baby's. so it's a good idea to separate! also, get organizers to put his or her papers in, you know, the discharge papers, birth certificate, immunization record. so you have everything handy. a separate mail inbox on your desk would be nice, because with baby, those bills will find their way under your bed and into drawers. good luck!
