What is involved with bringing a pet into the US?

I live in Canada, and am going to be moving to the States. I would love to bring my kitty with me. Could someone tell me what is involved with this? Special arrangements with the airline? Special papers for vaccines? A quarantine period?

This link has the federal requirements. Surprisingly, no vaccination papers are required for cats by them but they may be required by the individual state and airline. You will have to arrive at a port of entry where your cat can be inspected by a vet.
I believe only Hawaii has quarantine requirements for cats.
