The psychic who's on Montel?

Question

Anyone know the deal there? Is she a fake? are all psychics fake? I tend to think so, but I wonder why Montel always has her on?? Any answers?

I don't know the deal with her.

I do know that a friend of mine whose husband died has read her books and though my friend doesn't believe everything in them, she does think that she does have "something", some wisdom about psychic things.

Other people think she's not on the up and up and have organized a "Stop Sylvia Brown" organization with a website at:

All psychics are fake. Sylvia Brown who appears on the Montel Show has already proven to be fake. She has given the wrong information to police and others.
There was a controversy not too long ago where she gave the wrong info about a missing child, and everyone was livid.
I think Montel is destroying his reputation by continuing to have her on his show.

Some people that have been known to have psychic abilities wind up learning how to cold read. I've heard how drained a real psychic read can get, so for someone to pop up in a studio and start saying your mom is in the room casually.. it's all about cold reads.

I think she's rather interesting, but wonder sometimes if she is a man in drag. Her voice, her hands, and she never stands up. She has ridden on the coattails of Montel's fame to rise to where she is today.

Montel has MS and when he was being diagnosised Sylvia Brown had made a prediction that hit close to his heart. They became good friends and she now profits from regular appearances on his show.

She not only makes predictions but has many bestselling books on the market.

I think she runs off her intuitions mainly but she has a pretty good record of being correct. Although, she also has false predicted many an occasion.

She's an entertainer and like magicians, you shouldn't always believe what you see or hear.

Plus, if you're a Christian then you've been taught to beware of false prophets.

i do believe in premontions and 6th senses..but i think the sylvia brownes and john edwards out there are such phonies and no better than the $5 card reader you find at any corner..i dont watch montell cuz he endorses this phony..ive seen her a couple of times and must say she is very good at being vague to make people believe in her..ie not to long ago an old woman asked a question about her parents and she said they passed and are looking after you..i was thinking no sh*t there dead the woman is in her 80s

Speaking only from a Christian perspective: Psychics, Seers, Mediums, etc. etc. are all fake. God tells us not to pay any attention to them. Sylvia Browne (Montel's psychic friend) is now doing a "Vegas act" ..... does that tell you anything? I know some of them sound convincing and once in awhile I find myself in awe of Criss Angel (Mind Freak) but I have to jerk! myself back into my Christian mind frame and listen to God ~ these people are of evil, not good.

i think all psychics are fake and its withe jeanne dixon or sylvia browne. i havent watch the show in years. as a matter of fact there has been lawsuits filed against sylvia browne because of her predictions.
