well it's mainly my dad. you see, i love goth/emo type stuff. i love the colors black, blood red, silver, grey... and hate bright girly type stuff(like pink), i listen to emo/goth/metal music, i have very pale skin, i have 2 sharp teeth(that are kind of pointed at the tips... and yes they're real). i like stores like hot topic and spencers. my dad doesn't mind some stuff in spencers but he doesn't like hot topic. my mom doesn't care what i wear... but my dad does. he won't allow me to wear tripps(the pants with chains on them that most goths wear). and i think it's because of his parents. even though their only my grandparents, they think they can tell my dad how i should live my life. it annoys me. they judge me(call me a satanist and stuff). my little cousin always gets stuff started too(my grandparents believe it then tell my dad). i wear dark colors and have studded jewlery. but does it make me a poser goth/emo if i'm not allowed to wear the make up or tripps?

i was a goth a few years back. i wasnt very good at it tbh!
but because i wanted to be one. i was!
you do your thing and obey your parents but stay true to yourself!

This sounds totally like my same situation. My dad is older and he hates me having my hair in my face (I guess you would call that the "emo" cut). My mom does not really like that, but she is cool with it, she lets me be my own person and do whatever. I am not into lables though, so there is a difference between you and me. I wouldn't call you a poser if you weren't aloud to wear the a lot black stuff, and heavy make up. But hey, my opinion. Good luck with dad, I know how you feel.

no, it makes you a poser goth/emo if you have to ask if you're a poser because you don't have the complete goth/emo set. and by the way, goths and emos are completely different, so you are a poser. just listen to your dad and stop trying to be someone you're not.

Even if you are wearing all the regalia, you are still posing at being something you are not, because you are wearing what you are wearing at the largess of your dad, who pays for all that crap. Your grandparents, like your dad, are concerned about your life, and the positive outcome of your life. So what if it annoys you? As long as you live under your dad's roof, you would do well to follow his rules. Otherwise, he might kick your ungrateful, annoyed little butt out of the house and let you fend for yourself, which believe me, you could not do.
