Think about it. You wake up each day to hear that people die. Wars are fought because of beliefs, religion and ultimately power... People are judged, daily by societies and cultures, present long before we've been born...
We're born into a world of conflict... We rise every day to fight a new battle, knowing fully well that even when we're "happy", there'll be a time when another problem comes, when another challenge awaits... Another burden...
In eventuallity, we will all face death. And for those who believe that this world is only temporal, well... good for them. What of the others, what are we living for? Contention for happiness for just one day?!
Civilization has gone on for so long, millenium and it's just an endless cycle, one after another... The day we were conceived, we have been chosen to walk this path of despair.
And there is nothing we can do about it.
What's the point of it? Why do we even exist? If we didn't exist, we wouldn't even need to feel...

Take a piece of typing paper. Draw a vertical line an inch away from the right edge of the paper, and do the same an inch away from the left edge.
The space between the left edge of the paper and the vertical line you drew represents the time before you were born. The space between the right edge of the paper and the line you drew there represents the time after you're dead.
Now draw an arrow starting from inside the left vertical line extending all the way to the inside of the right vertical line.
That arrow represents your life. You came from nothing, and will return to it. It's a free ride, dude. And after you're dead, you won't ever know you existed. So why not enjoy the ride as much as possible. You got nothing to lose. That arrow is an illusion, albeit, an important one.
Do you know where all the billions of people that existed 120 years ago are? They've disappeared forever into the space to the right of your vertical line. Carpe Diem, my friend.
Seize the day.

Rethiking the alternatives for senile politicians seems to be the set peice of our lifes. Just look at all the social changes throught history. Every generation sees social change, and what does social change mean? The reason of my existance?
Could you have arose from these politicians and do these politics seem to be the center of the sun? No. Thank you, your highness, I'll be myself, an animal, and I'll live and die like myself, an animal.
Think about it. Why is there a reason to be alive? There is no reason. I am just a biological reproduction, and I will reproduce, to seem survivable, then I will die. There is no great political soap opera that I have to take part in.
Now that the picture has belted into my mind by theory of evolution, I'll just fear the wild animals and hunt for my dinner, while looking for a mate. Thank you, boss, but I don't think that being well paid would make me any more suave then that fella making a living on tequilla.

And yet there is something so right about having to live a life full of conflict. We progress. There is hope to learn. We are startled by humanity's indifference and fever for war. We are dumbfounded by people's stupidity in actions. We are enraged when there are people who do horrible things and get away with murder. But yet, there are those who realize the preciousness of life, and they will desire heavily for some peace. And those who do long for this peace, will want to hold onto to it forever so that harm will not inflict anyone. A lot of people wish for peace, and it just takes one person at a time to reach a point where they will desire for some and pay it forward to someone else.
Perhaps one day you will not worry so much about existence. Or even despair, and instead revel in it so much to have gone a rebirth, or renewed by the pure flames. This mystery is everywhere, but yet, so oddly hidden from seeing eyes, and so even barely excavated.

There is no path. There is no heavenly reward. There is no ulterior motive for being alive. Existence is the reason. There is no other reason. We are here because somewhere along the way our ancestors survived a plague, a war, a famine so that there genes now find a home in us. We are the result of superior beings that were able to survive in the harsh environment of earth. Anything else that humans believe life to be other than pure existence is a fantasy.

I don't think there's anything wrong with existence. The point is to work toward your heavenly reward, not your earthly reward. Life isn't a fairy tale. I think it would kind of suck if everyone had a happy ending. Good people die, bad people get over sometimes. You lose the one you love, nothing goes the way you thought it should. But it's not always like that. If you honestly think about your days, think about the good days and think about the not so good days. Do your good days outweigh your bad days? Mine do. You just have to remember, just as I do, that you have to take what you can get and make the most out of it.

Goodness, well first how has humanity come up with the question "point of life". That very question has derived from our evolving minds. Maybe point is just a made up idea with have come up with to cope with the fact that this world is happening, that death is happening, that life is happening.
Looking at it from a scientific view, I believe we're all a very lucky series of events---but then it gets foggy when you have to think about everything before the big bang, what is 'space'? Space between you and I? It's all very strange stuff.
I don't believe there is a point of life, we as humans have come up with everything we live today, and how we live it. We have created a point to life. But in the big game, I don't know. I guess the religious are lucky, in the sense they are secure for what's after this. I'm not. I mean, I guess it isn't totally hard to believe of possible living after death, I mean look outside your window--this crazy **** happened- life coming from the big bang-and then what before that? - It had to have happened, I mean, that's just as insane as life after death...so if that's possible, I guess we have to question it all.

We wake up every day with goals. We strive for perfection because its our instinct. We go to work, school, etc. to fulfill these goals and create more as we go. We have children to watch them grown and do the same thing. It gives us something to do because that's human nature. It is only a path of despair if that is the way you choose to look at it.

You are right. Buddha came to the very same conclusion. It sounds like you are ready to venture on a spiritual journey as he did.
This book may be of help... a fun read but it explains the deepest mysteries... and how to get beyond the meaningless life you are speaking about.
But your thinking is right on target, it really is exactly right.
