I'm doing a report for English, and we're learning about Greek mythology, and we need to make a poster that has pictures of candy, advertisements, or anything that is named after Greek things. Any ideas? Some things I have are:
Nike
Mars Bars
Trident [gum]
Remember the Titans
Achilles Heel
Poisedan[the movie]
Any more ideas??

Versace uses Medusa as a logo today.

Alexander the Great engraved Medusa on his shield.

Notable ships named after the Medusa monster of mythology include the Pearl Harbor survivor the USS Medusa (AR-1).

Tennessee Titans an NFL football team.

The world calls these gods and goddesses myths, but I believe they were the world of fallen angels mixed with people before the flood of Noah. I believe the fallen angels knew the genetic concept of manipulating genes and therefore the goat-god Pan and Medusa with her snake hair and the body of a man with a Falcon head. Throughout archeology they have uncovered man-animal chimeras. Today we have a mouse with a man's ear growing on it. We have a sheep with a human liver. We have human blood running through a pig. And the Lord only knows what other monstrosities have been created with this genetic manipulation and stem cell research.

There is a great book by Isaac Asimov on exactly this subject: Words from the Myths.

Have fun.
