The Champ, and Ricky Shroder. When he knew that his father had died after fighting in the ring and he didn't want to accept it. That scene with him as a child being held back crying and reaching out for his fathers lifeless body laying on the table as others looked on helplessly. That scene always makes me cry. I couldn't believe that someone so young could pull that off the way he did. He made it so vividly real that I almost forget that it's a movie at that point. Great acting. Really great! He's not as good now, but he acted the hell out of that part back then.

I typically hate child actors, so when I see one that's actually convincing it's more impressive to me than any adult actor. So, I choose the young actress playing the title character in the French movie "Ponette" (throughout the whole movie; no one moment in particular). Incredible!

Also from The Notebook, when they're older & Ally 'comes back', then 'goes away' again. They show Duke/Noah (James Garner)'s face & it's so full of pain & his chin quivvers ever so slightly. Breaks my heart into a million pieces every time.
