Anyone else had a Total hysterectomy with bilatera salpingo-oophorectomy and having contraction pains on bowel

movements? When I eat and my digestive sytem works, and I have bowel movements, I am in very bad pain, like baby contractions each time. Is this to be expected? I had my operation 8 days ago. I have to breath through the contraction like pains and am wondering how long they will continue? I know I have lots of internal stiches as well as external and it all takes time to heal. I would appreciate any others experiences on this. Thank you.

I have not had a hysterectomy but from having talked to some of my friends who have some of this pain is pretty normal during the first 6 weeks or so, but I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
