whats a good computer brand??? one thats fast!!!????

The brand doesnt make them fast--its the processor speed,size of the cache in the cpu,amount of and speed of ram,and size of cache in the hard drive. Intel Duo processors are quick and so are AMD64 processors. 1GB of ram is pretty fast, 2 is faster. I buy the fastest computer I can afford. If you arent going to be doing much gaming or graphic downloads, you really dont need a lot of speed.

Fast as in???
It does not go by Brands that make them fast. It goes by what the specs are.
I prefer custom built machines they have less junk on them and you can get just what you need for a limited price.
If you really want a manufactured one though be sure to check what is in it that is where speed comes from the processor.
If I had to buy a manufactured system i would likely go with
Dell or Acer.
I will NEVER get another HP again way too many issues myself as well as others have been had with this companies systems lately

To a computer illiterate person I would just say, "Buy a Mac."
I think you would be satisfied with that answer.
Otherwise go to a mom and pop computer store, tell them your needs and your budget. They should be able to set you up with a decent machine.
Goes without saying to be careful of the "upsell" from these places.
