I actually liked the book more also. I am only about 10 miles from the Citadel so it made it more interesting to me, even though it was not filmed here.
I have been to th Citadel many times, they are a great bunch of men and women and always look so nice in their uniforms. I dated one of the instructors for awhile, he said that much that was written is absolutely true, and gave me the actual names of the people. Very intersting, but the book ws truly great

Pat Conroy's book was much better.
