I would rather work.....God gave me a body and strength to be able to help myself.

Edit : I would not be comfortable receiving handouts, when I know I am healthy enough to fend for myself I would want someone that was not able to work to get the handouts!

In answer to your question, I would rather work for what I want in life. Because lets face it. If people got handouts in life and never had to work for it, there would be alot of ungrateful people out there. When someone has to work for what they want, they appreciate it more. You have a sense of accomplishment when you work for something.

Hope this helps!

I honestly love both. I work really hard, usually 42 hours a week at a job that often really frustrates me. So when I get my paychecks, I really, really enjoy them and appreciate my hard work that i did for myself. However, whenever anyone helps me out in any kind of way, I usually accept it and really appreciate that too. It is helathy to have a balance, especially when you do good for others as well. :) Hope this helps. :)

I would rather work for it. People develop character when they work for what they need. If for some reason they lose what they have worked for, at least they have character and can easily make up for the loss. A lazy *** with no character is a dirty shame.

Work for it. Nothing worthwhile is ever gained by being given (ethics and values wise, material, yeah, plenty). You're more likely to fight to protect than not care about losing something that you didn't earn.

I'd rather work for it. But if someone wants to hand out money to me, I sure won't say no.
