OPINION needed! ive broken my laptop; repair it or take out hard drive and use as external ?

and if i take it out- will all of my files still be there?

How bad is it broken??? and what kind of laptop is it??? if It's just a software problem... Fix it... If its hardware.. then just use the hard drive if the repair is too costly....

Repair it...or better yet, find someone who can repair it for you.
