Sounds to me like ez lube needs to have their butts kicked. Listen, I can't stand those joints. Many a horror story have I heard about those places. The training they get in minimal at best. I get under my car and I get busy with it. I do all my own preventive maintenance. And ya know, I feel better about it. For example; On a Mazda 3 w/ the 2.3L engine, the oil filter canister has to be torqued. Would a ez lube, jiffy lube or other garage do that? Hell no! I bought 2 torque wrenches (inch lb & foot lb), floor jack, oil drain pan, & plenty of protective materials (gloves, plastic drop cloths, safety jacks) and I do everything. Then I got educated by reading my owners manual. I mean I read every page. It says alot. So, there it is. Get busy and do it yourself. Any questions, email me directly. I live 1 hr S of Chicago.
Call the Better Bus Bureau and report them. Then sue the crap out of them in small claims court if you believe you have a case.

Just as your doing now My son went in to get a lube and oil change for $19.95 and by the time he left he paid darn near $70.00. The next day all the oil was on my drive way. They forgot to tighten up the drain plug It ended up costing me 4 more quarts of oil and a big job cleaning my driveway. Boo E Z LUBE bad job. I hope this adds to there downfall.

this isnt a job for the better business bureau....this is a job for the state attorney general. this is blatent deceptive trade practices for starters. advise the shop they have 1 of 2 options....get ur car repaired at 100% their bill, or u'll have the state attorney general at their door before the week is out. this is consumer fraud at its worst.

If you feel wronged by a merchant, you should start by complaining to your chamber of commerce and better business bureau. You might even be able to find them online.
