I'd say on average, *worldwide*, the number is about 30%.

But the thing is, there's likely huge differences locally from place to place, and my humble guess on this is.....if you're not filthy rich in the United States, you *are* currently in fact miserable in some way, shape or form. That's just the way society works these days, sorry. -_-

So my guess is, locally that number can more than double, depending on circumstances largely outside of people's control, mainly on things like a) can people find jobs, earn a living and *hope to* be self-sufficient? and b) can people even *get* the healthcare they need when they're not well? and c) how much of a person's life is, on average, *one big grind and hassle*?

So locally we could be talking about a "sick of life" percentage of around 60-70%, depending on how thwarted and frustrated people are feeling in their lives. Basically it's a "locus of control" issue (that's in quotes so you can search the *phrase* with copy and paste, no typing needed). If people feel they *are* in charge of their destiny, they feel better. If they feel out of control and like they're just being used and manipulated *constantly* they feel worse.

And if they feel that *Nothing* they do works at all or is relevant at all, that life is just going to *crush them* no matter what....well, that is *one* major Root of Depression right there.

So yeah, there it is. -_- I hope this helps. Email me if you want more details, quotes, links, something....thanks again.

Living on it's own is great. It's wonderful to be alive.

What makes it miserable is all of the other BS of day to day life. Like having to work a monotonous, boring, dead end job to survive. Dealing with stress, traffic, bills, taxes, crappy government, consumerisim, and the daily treadmill from hell.

I'm sure that if you gave most people a choice of living free, they would take it. If the average person didn't have to be a slave to modern society, they would be a lot happier and would be able to enjoy their lives.

Definitely more than that. I would say about 75%. A lot of people are happy living but even when some people appear to be enjoying life deep down they're suffering!! Thats how it is with me. A lot of people don't know how i feel and i appear to be fine on the outside!

I'm guessing but

10-20% Are permanently in that state at any time.

An additional maybe 30 percent feel that way on occasion but not all at the same the time.

100%, maybe not at any one time
but
everyone feels that way at some point
no-one is constantly satisfied with life and being alive
at any one time i'd agree with the guy who says 90%
or id maybe even go so far as 99%

I say 25% of all people feel this way at some time, not the same people, just total.

Are you asking about the population of where: your town, city, country, continent, or the world?
