I set up this account under cmcpheed.com and put our my email address cmcpheed@gmail.com. Now I don't know how to get it listed in yahoo or google for free.

You need to improve your site then promote it.
Use this free service to check your meta tags, keywords etc. and you will see what I mean:

Then use their free meta tag generator service to accomplish this:
http://www.submitexpress.com/metatags.html
Keep working on it until you have them right.
Next use forums, blogs, press releases etc. to promote your site. Always use your URL in your signature.
Try to get links from other already indexed and similar sites.
The search engines will eventually find and index your website.

You can go to each major search engine and look for an "add url" or "add site" link somewhere on the page. They then ask for your URL and a bit of info about the site.
You also have the choice of mass submitting through web forms online for free. Just type into google something like "free url submit to search engines" and you will probably get a ton of them. Just don't put down any personal information or account info and you are all good.
One site I have listed below, but there are many more. Some cost and some are free, just find the free ones.
