Can me and my fiance get married after we get the license cleared by ourselves? Can it just be her, I, and the pastor? We don't want anyone else there but us 2. However, in a few years we will have time and fiances for the big ceremony? What advice can you offer me?

you usually have to have 1 witness when getting married.

I think you should wait to legally get married until you can afford to have the wedding you want, getting married now and then having a big ceremony later is not a good idea why have a mock ceremony when you are already married? renewing your vows would be more appropriate.

I'm not sure what you mean by "cleared by ourselves." However, I see no reason why you can't get married privately now and then have a "renewal" of your wedding vows down the road and make it a big splashy event. People renew their vows all the time... in your case it will be more like a renewal being the first real celebration of the event. Good luck and happiness to you and yours!

It might depend on the rules of where you live so check with the pastor he could tell you.
I know of a friend who got married and it was just her and her husband and a judge so it can be done.

Once you have the marriage license you're married, after that you could have Bozo the Clown perform the ceremony, you're still married.

Legally, you usually need witnesses. You could ask people in the courthouse to oblige, but we asked our mothers to be there (our fathers are deceased). We loved our $15 courthouse wedding, and I wouldn't have changed it for the world. Over two years, we did have several big parties--one with his family, one with mine, and one with friends. We didn't host them all.

None of our siblings were upset once we explained that there would be later celebrations.

You will need a witness, maybe the pastor will have a wife. Anything is possible.

you have to have winesses at your wedding, so you'll need at least 2 more people. grab your two best friends, and just go to the courthouse. if you just want to be man and wife, and plan for a big wedding down the road, then that's the way to go.

If that's the kind of ceremony you and your fiance want, then do it. You can always celebrate your 1st anniversary with family and friends. Don't start your marriage trying to please others.
