OK well -17 times -1 (- means the same as -1) is 17 then times it by another -1 gives you -17.

-17 with a negative = 17 then when next to another negative = -17
just work from inside out [because the parenthesis tell you where to start and where to go next pretty much]

I think it is -17, becuz if you think about it neg and neg. makes a positive, but if you add a negative to a positive the answer will come out neg if its multiplication, but in addition it depends on the higher number
