I myself am a nurse and I think both doctors and nurses are only looking out for their patients. I know how hard both professions work. The long hours, the countless patients, all of this is because we care. I respect both nurses as well as physicians and honor their opinions.

I think you have to be fairly book smart for either profession. Many doctors are believed to lack social skills, but the way insurance companies are treating them and the educational system, it is little wonder. I think many doctors and nurses are overworked and I think many people in these professions are insidiously being drawn from patient care to corporate care (i.e., filling out the paperwork). Making money is becoming more important than people's health. Don't get me wrong, doctors and nurses have to and should make a living, but they are forced to choose between providing good care and making a living for their families. Usually people enter the professions because they care about people.

A doctor is someone who wants money and respect, and is willing to exploit sick and weak people to attain their goals. They are not respectable in my opinion, and I know that's not a popular opinion but someone has to tell the truth about who these people really are and what their true motives are.

Nurses are better. They are the caring, nurturing types who mean well, but they still have to wake up and realize they are part of a diseased health care system that often does more harm than good.
