Wouldn't it get boring having everything you want, traveling twice all over the world, eating at all the fine restaurants, and attending all manner of events, etc. What would a rich person wish or strive for if they have everything?

Me and my imagination. This question popped in my head when I remembered what the actor George Sanders said before he committed suicide. Paraphrased, he said he had one everything and life was boring

My parents were wealthy, at times I have had a great deal of money, but truthfully, I am happy as i am. I used to think happiness was in materialistic things, but happiness comes from within your soul, the satisfaction of liking yourself, acting morally, legally and kindly towards others have given me more happiness than a fancy house, new car, furniture, etc.

I don't think so at all. Unfortunately I cannot speak from my own personal experiences. I can attest to being flat broke not being a party! But just as I have been forced to learn to apprecicate things I never bothered to appreciate when I wasn't having a "financial crisis" until I was...I have to believe that having more money than you know what to do with could leave someone open to having the means and the way to give back. It's up to them is they use that opportunity or not.

Money cannot buy happiness, BUT money does NOT mean unhappiness either. Money is no more than a tool. I know of no really poor people who are happy, yet I know a lot of very rich people who are happy. IT is difficult to be up and positive when you worry yourself sick over how to pay the bills.
Look on the happy side...if you were rich, wouldn't you spend your time helping others??? That could be a life's mission! The rich people I know spend huge amounts of time volunteering to raise money for Cancer Cure, Altzheimers, Diabetes, Working Wardrobes, you name it, they are active, often with more than one cause. They give heavily to these causes. Being rich is NOT over rated, it is under realized :-)
The rich people I know do not waste their time, they spend it wisely, and I suspect that is how they got rich in the first place.

Being rich may be overrated, but I've never had enough money to find out. All I know for sure is I've sure never been tickled about being poor! lol

My husband always said if I won the lottery, I'd just give it away and he's right. I could make life so much easier for so many, so 'no' I'd never be bored being rich.

How can anyone tire of having money, if there is anyone out there that does not want their money I will gladly take it off their hands at no cost whatsoever, two things have always stayed in my mind, 1) My father said to me once, there is only one thing that money can't buy and that is poverty. 2) When I was very young I set my self a target to remain poor for the rest of my life and by god, I have succeeded beyond my wildest dreams.

I don't believe money, in and of itself is a bad thing...the word of God tells us it is the "Love of money" that is the problem.
Think of all the wonderful things we could do with unlimited resources..we could feed, house, clothe and care for so many people..it would be great to have the freedom to do that.
Without concern over our own needs!

Absolutely. What "fun" is there to life- when everything is just "handed to you"??! Challenge is one of the things that make like WORTH living. We BETTER ourselves as people, when we overcome hard "stuff" (and we can MUCH better relate to OTHERS- who don't have any CHOICE- but to face hard things in their lives). Money CAN make life alittle "easier"... -But that's NOT the same thing, as making it "better..." :)

My luxury is the feeling that my time belongs to me - I have time to do this or that - and high culture and access to art -
The things you quote are empty - I know in particular billionaires' children - parents are never there - I feel just compassion for that pathetical line-sniffer society.( mean parents not children ) -

Having lots of money doesn't solve all of life's problems. Most of the good things on earth can't be bought with money.
