My city has hard water and when I wash them in the dish washer and let them dry.. it looks like there is alot of dried up soap on my dishes.. plates, silverware, glasses and all!! and it looks horrible. I use the Liquid cascade. I stopped using the powder cascade because it gave me problems to after a while so I switched to liquid. Now im thinking about switching again. I washed my dishes last night only to have to wash them again this morning.. but with a smal squirt of liquid dish soap (the kind made to wash dishes in the sink...). How can I cope with this?? its so annoying.

Our city has hard water as well. I used to use Jet Dry in the rinse aid dispenser. it worked for the most part, but I would still see occasional spots. So, I started putting white distilled vinegar in the rinse aid dispenser. The dishes never have hard water stains now. They sparkle like never before. Also, to clean out the dishwasher itself, once a month I run an empty load with 1/2 cup vinegar in the bottom of the dishwasher and baking soda in the detergent holder.

I had a neighbor who had this problem, got so bad that she finally got rid of her dishwasher and now just washes everything by hand.

I guess after you have run the clean cycle on your dishwasher, fill up the dishsoap resovoir with white vinegar and run the rinse cycle, that may help to take off any remaining hard water deposits.

Do use a rinse agent like Jet Dry? They help a lot, but if your water is hard enough, you might have to put in a filter.

Well next time you grill chops line the pan with foil. For now to get the stain out sprinkle the whole thing with baking soda and boiling water and scrub, scrub, scrub!Someone also told me you can spray oven cleaner on pots and pans and let them soak overnight, but I never tried this. The baking soda really softens stuck on stuff!

Every so often, get a dishwasher cleaner from the appliance store. Not the one in the grocery store. It will clean all the hard water stains out of the dishwasher.

Rinse them off and dry them right away. You won't have any spots or stains that way.
