Personally, I was trained to type with a keyboard with no letters on the keys by a teacher who used to teach typing on the typewriter. We were also given tests in grade school to label every key on the keyboard.
We were also forced to use a program called type to learn which had animated hands on the screen which moved the way your hands should in order to better your typing ability by visualizing the handshapes you should make rather than the keyboard.

For me my fingers know where all the keys are i just look at the screen and type its easy i can text using my cell phone without looking too and i can do it fast.
It took me a long time but i can do it ,it just takes practise.
But you can make some spelling mistakes by typing fast and not looking at the keyboard thats why spell check comes in handy

It's called touch typing and is something that is taught in secretarial schools. You can also buy software programs to teach yourself.
