Does anyone know any natural cost effective ways to stop or lessen someone's snoring. It is coming between me and my partner and I need it to stop, but I don't have a lot of money for the strips and such. Can anyone help?

Sleep Apnea and snoring seem
to go hand-in-hand. If you could watch him some night...
Does he ever just stop breathing for a few seconds, then suck air in? If so, he
has sleep apnea. Most health insurance will cover a sleep test in the hospital (to
make a proper diagnosis)
Some sinus problems cause
snoring and ditto for post-nasal drip and tonsil or
adenoid problems.
First, get him to sleep on
his side and see if that helps.
Or tie a ball to his undershirt
and pin it in the middle of
his back. So he screams,
so what? The nose strips
really don't cost a lot. I think
he would rather wear them than lose you???

Very loud snoring can be a sign of health problems, see your doctor. If all checks out, then earplugs for the non snorer or sleeping in another room.

My husband snores a lot due to allergies and I either wear earplugs or go sleep in the guest room. The strips made no difference.

If your partner can lose weight that might help. Excess weight pushes down on the trachea while sleeping causing snoring however, a serious condition known as sleep apnea is possible. The best way to find out is a sleep study. They may need a CPAP machine.

Snoring can be caused by sleep apnia. My partner had it and she had a breathing machine she uses at night. The strips and over the counter things didn't work for her. The ear plugs didn't work for me.
