First make sure all your connections are right from pc to internet connection device and wiring or wifi device.

My first choice would be: You can run your IP's software if you have a disk to reinstall its software and reset all the hardware.

My second choice would be: To use the connection wizzard to try to reconnect. Start / Programs / Accessories / Connections / New Connection Wizzard

My third choice would be: To check the hardware to see if they are showing up and working. Control Panel / System Hardware / Device Manager / look for your network adapter or modem / right click for properties/ see if it states that it is working. If you can't find your adapter or modem or find that the device is not operating as it should, you need to reinstall drivers by running your Operating System disk to reinstall the drivers.

My last choice is for you to take it back to the company or individual who restored it and let them deal with it. It shouldn't cost you anything.

First thing to do is to find out if you are connected to the internet. Are you on wire connection? If so, is the wire plug into your computer and the modem? Assuming your computer is connected to the modem, you will need to use a virus software to scan the hard drives of your computer. It will probably take a few hours (especially if you have a lot of files), but the anti virus software should be able to detect and remove the virus. Just make sure your virus scan software is up to date. If you can't update the virus scan via cable internet, use a telephone modem to connect to the intenet, and download the updates.

Good luck!

Might be that ur pc was restored to the time before an internet connection was setup. Use the internet connection wizard (connect to the internet) and see if you can re-set it up.

since everything was restored, try reinstalling some software you had to connect to the internet. Make sure, if you have wireless, that all cable are connected to the right outlet and try to restart the modem it self. see if that does anything.

Are you using a wireless network? What program did you install? Some programs require you to back your files up - there's nothing wrong with that.

Maybe it cannot pick up a wireless signal. Make sure that your internal wireless card is turned on. If it is, try moving closer and resetting your router.
