Oliver

Which ones are your faves for boys and girlss?? I need suggestions for middle names, too. For girls I'd like the middle name Elizabeth (family traditions), but it's not necessary. Or if you have a good first name to go with Elizabeth.
I will pick a best answer, for whoever I think has the best ideas!

I love the fact that Elizabeth has special family significance for you, so I'd keep that in there if at all possible. ;) My preferences (listed in order from favorite to least favorite) and comments ...

GIRLS
Lilly - love it. Popular, but a sweet classic that will never go out of style. However, Lily/Lilly is a known nickname FOR Elizabeth (stemming from the old pet form Lilibeth), so it would seem odd to pair it with Elizabeth. Just a thought, but since Elizabeth is a family tradition, why not move it to the first name slot and use Lilly as a nickname -- keeping the connection but changing it up a bit? Seems win-win to me! ;)

Isobel - a fine name, and I definitely prefer it over the Isabelle or Isabella forms. Again, however, Isobel is basically a Scottish form of Elizabeth, so you probably wouldn't want to pair the two. It'd be like naming her Mary Maria, know what I mean? Of course, you could use this as your Elizabeth connection -- just a different form of the name -- and use something else as the middle name. Perhaps another Celtic name? Isobel Catriona/Catrina, Finola, Fiona, Grier, Lorna, Moira, etc.

Aubrie - technically much too masculine for my taste, especially with the "feminized" misspelling. I just don't care for it at all, though I do like the classy, similar -- but obviously feminine -- Audrey. ;)

BOYS
Oliver - love it. Just a great all-around choice. ;)

Aidan - a great name, and I love that you know the correct spelling (many don't seem to LOL), but there are so many similar names currently popular (Braden, Caden, Hayden, Jadon, etc., not to mention all their misspellings). Still a good name, but I'd lean more toward Oliver because of that.

Noah - sort of dittoing Aidan here. Noah's not a bad name, but there are just SO MANY out there right now. It's a natural brother name to THE most popular name out there -- Jacob -- and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. So again, I prefer Oliver. ;)

Middle names for the boys would sort of depend on which style first name you go with (classic, Celtic, Biblical, etc.). Not that you HAVE to have a Biblical middle name if you use Noah, or a Celtic one with Aidan, but simply because it'd be easier to narrow the options as far as suggestions go.

For example, many who like Oliver also like Simon, Martin, Henry, Harvey, Hugh, Nathaniel, Sebastian, Oscar, Elias, Milo, Avery, etc. (not that you WOULD pair all of those with Oliver, but perhaps to get a better feel for a style you'd like as a middle name to any first name option).

Likewise, someone who loves Aidan might also appreciate Cameron, Conor/Connor, Nolan, Ronan, Lachlan, Ewan/Euan, Owen, Oran, Lennox or Graham/Graeme.

And obviously, the many parents who like Noah often seem to agree on Jacob, Jonah, Ethan, Nathan, Caleb, Asher, Jude, Malachi, Levi or Ezra, as well.

So really, it just depends on what most appeals to you. But those are some examples. ;)

Dearest Quil,
Congratulations on your pregnancy! I know you will have a prince or princess to treasure forever!

Aubrie-Sounds like autumn, or aurburn. Disagree.
Lilly-Beautiful, truly beautiful. But maybe you should try it with one L instead of two.
Isobel-Aww, how precious. What about Isabelle?

Aidan-No. It has Aid in it. sounds weird.
Noah-Unless you're a strict christian, this is a no-no.
Oliver-Are you sure? This is a very popular name, and your child is at risk from being called Oliver P or Oliver F or something. But it can be shortened to Ollie:]

Good Luck:]
