I mostly listen to rap. And for everyone who said rap only talks about hoes, drugs, shooting people and money, THAT'S NOT REAL HIP HOP.
People need to stop judging hip hop on artist that real hip hop heads would consider pop artist. This includes 50 cent, Soulja Boy, Hurricane Chris, and Lil' Wayne (Most Times). Stop judging other artist by these hip hop wanna-be's. Common+ Lupe Fiasco+ Hip-hop before 2000= hip hop with a message. Don't listen to 50 cent or Lil' Wayne and say hip hop sucks because that's not hip hop, that's pop.
And honestly if I was to get into another type of music I think it would be rock. I think that hip hop and rock have some similarities. And don't get me wrong I'm not saying that their exactly alike. Their just not completely different.

I can do both rock and rap/hip hop...but i consider myself more on the rock side...but i still love rap/ hip hop! :]

Rock, by a long shot.
Some rap has a decent beat, but (mainstream) rap has absolutely no meaning to me, about the only rapper I really listen to me is Ill Bill.
Of course, rock has some extremely crappy music music too. For any good music you have to dig into the relative unknown.

I personally like rap better. i like some rock but if its like major hard hard rock, i hate it.
