I used to have that problem too as i was wearing coloured contacts for 12 years. There has been times when i dont even like to take them out coz i love the way my eyes looked in colour. And i have tried not to wear contacts at home and when i go out for short distance. Now i feel happy with my natural eye colour. But it did take me some time to get used to the fact of my natural eye colour.

I wore violet contacts for many years. Then, one day my eyes became very sensitive to them and I couldnt wear them anymore. I had to switch to clear immediately. Now people compliment me on seeing my natural green eyes all the time. My eyes feel much better in the clear ones too, clear contacts are usually much thinner than colored contacts.
Be glad you have healthy eyes. Wear the clear ones, and don't keep looking at yourself in the mirror. It's just vanity.

just keep wearing them everyday and you'll get used to them. Most people don't adjust to change right away, so it takes time to get used to it. My suggestions is to keep wearing your natural color contacts everyday and get used to seeing yourself with your natural eye colour.
Trust me, I had a friend who got new these new glasses frame and i thought they looked HORRIBLE when she bought them. After seeing her for months on end I got used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore.

not likely, you are able to normally positioned on them for 12 hours. After that, in case you get drained or something, they make your eye sight blurry. yet I doubt you will choose them for extra then 12 hours. What your sister stated, isn't authentic. I positioned on coloured contacts time-honored, and that i've got been for 4 years. Get the best style of contacts nonetheless.

at home don't wear the colored contacts and look at yourself in every mirror you pass at home, even try to go out without color contacts so you little by little get used to not having them in, you'll like yourself again. Same thing happened to me.
