How were YOU disciplined as a kid?

My parents spanked me my brother and sister and I love them for it, I know they were doing it to teach me a lesson and I only got it about three times as a kid because my mom would just make that face and i would know, I absoulutely HATE parents and kids these days hearing a kid SCREAM for a lollipop in the grocery store and the parent buying it for them to shut them up makes me sickkk other people would constantly come up to my mom in grocery stores and resturants and say "You're kids are so well behaved, what do you do??!" I also hate when parents "count" 1, 2, 3... if you don't get over here in three seconds Billy... 4, 5, 6.... 7, 8, 9........ and when they take away there t.v or computer privelges omg that makes me crazy and people who think spanking is abusing omg there is a FINE line between the two there needs to be more love and dicipline in this world. I want to give my kids the same discipline that we got as kids because I honestly believe it made me the person I am

im the same way, i dont like the way parents discipline their children now. me and my sisters also got spanked, and it never happened often, we learned not to do things we shouldn't and i never liked people who criticized parents who spank their children

I totally agree with you. I was spanked and slapped until about 15. As I got older it got harder. It really works. I have with my kids too. It is terrible to see how the kids are turning out today (child abuse) crap.
The Bible even says "spare the rod, spoil the child".

My parents were very strict & would lock me in the room whole day & I rarely had the chance to go out.

I wasn't really disciplined.. but when i was, yeah i WAS. my mom would lock me in my room in the dark and tell me "the devil was coming for me". which was f*king scary as hell when youre 9 years old. also, the good old switch worked. the ones off the nearest tree. hair brushes to the head. knuckels to the head. wrists being squeezed. made to sit on the front porch in the dark. phone to the head. those old a s s corded phones. which are really heavy. just things like that...

yup got spanked too, really hard...and i'm glad because your right, kids act real dumb now, it drives me crazy when i hear that counting sh*t, i tell you what that only works when you put a spanking right behind it, cuz my niece doesn't play when we count. Three means your in big trouble.

I wasnt disiplined as a kid i did what i wanted if it turned out bad it was taken and thrown away. I was on my own from 14 on parents werent allways around.

We were spanked and I agree with you, I know that my parents loved me enough to discipline me and to teach me respect for others, my mom taught me to treat others the way that I would want them to treat me!!!

when i was sixteen i flexed my manhood by shouting at my dad. with one punch he knocked me out, after that i was very good kid. all boys coming into manhood should experience this because it teaches you fear. it teaches you to think before doing something impulsive. it shows you caution, fear, and a sense of humbleness. all these things are needed when coming into adulthood. without them, you will prolly be a menace to society, or dead, or both.

my parents spanked, me, my brother, and my identical twin sister. my brother got into trouble rarely but me and paige well, we liked to trick our parents, since we looked "SO MUCH ALIKE". those were the days.......and i happen to agree with you. it makes me sick when i see a spoiled kid get whatever he/she wants just so they'll stop whatever they're doing. uggg!

100% agree with everything you just said...
We were not disciplined that much as a kid...but we weren't that bad either....we were afraid of our parents wrath though...so we didn't act like a bunch of fools.
